Nestled among the rolling hills of Rayong, Barcelona Valley Golf Club's Mountain Course (formerly Silky Oak Country Club) offers a scenic and enjoyable round that combines wide fairways with dramatic elevation changes. While forgiving from the tee, strategically placed water hazards and undulating greens provide enough challenge to keep golfers of all abilities engaged. Surrounded by panoramic mountain views, it is one of the best value-for-money golf experiences in the Pattaya region.

Barcelona Valley Golf Club, Mountain Course is a standard par-72 layout in a great setting with panoramic views of the surrounding hills from most parts of the course and especially from the elevated position of the halfway house. The course has nice wide fairways which will accommodate all but the very wild tee shot but you will encounter some uneven lies and the areas around the smallish greens are full of bumps and hollows which will severely test your short game.

Quite a few of the holes involve water carries off the tee or on your approach to the green but apart from that and the occasional pot bunker there is not too much to impeded your progress as the trees don’t really come into play.

The clubhouse and other facilities are fine but not exceptional and include a Japanese restaurant plus a range of other dishes Asian and Western delicacies. Other facilities include a swimming pool, karaoke room and massage. One thing to note is that it takes at least a 10 minutes to drive to the first tee so don’t arrive late at the clubhouse.

Clubhouse feels dated. The courses feels like old English courses. Need to appreciate it’s character

The fairways were a a little rugged with patches of repair. Green although not perfect are general in good conditions. As you continue to play; there is a unique character to the design of the course; like a matured wine..

Shocking hire clubs, reasonable course for the cost

The worst hire clubs I've ever been given, could have bought a better set off ebay for the same cost as the hire. Nice enough course for price. Turned up early and asked to warm up on the range but was driven straight to the first hole. Friendly caddies and staff. I wouldn't go back for the simple reason of the appalling hire clubs.

Decent enough condition local costs for buggies and caddies more than green fees. Take proposed tips into account this is not a cheap round of golf.

Silky oak golf club was not easily located. If it was listed as Barcelona Bay or Rayong the taxi driver would possibly have found the club. There are also NO signposts stating Silky Oak golf club until you arrive at the three clubhouses. Please also organise a return trip as the Office wanted to charge over three times the local rate, which I found as criminal. The caddies could not communicate in English we had to use Google translate the entire round. The course was in reasonable condition the pace of play was rapid. The card advertised was nothing like the one offered, tee colours and yardage were inconsistent to the one online.

Not worth it

Uninteresting course. Situated 1.5 km from club house we start tee Number 2! I dont know why. After nothing interesting, bad conditions of faiways, rough also. Design ridiculous. Club house very old. Works around the course, a lot of noise due to construction houses. The 2 others courses seems to be better. Club house bad

Great course to play near Pattaya!

Me and my wife had a great time at this course. It`s not the easiest course out there, so dont expect setting a new all time low record playing here. It is rewarding if you manage to pull off some high risk shots here and there, but equally punishing when you fail to hit good shots in those occations. The greens was a solid 7/10, the tee boxes were descent, the fairways were good, and the bunkers was very good and easy to play. The staff and caddies were really good. So all in all, very happy with our day at Silky Oak. I would definately reccommend people playing here.
