Pattana Golf Club and Resort is a 27-hole championship golf course and integrated resort spread out across 400 acres of rolling countryside northeast of Pattaya with panoramic views of the surrounding hills from the undulating fairways. Excellent all round facilities but a challenging golf course probably best suited to better golfers.
The three separate nines (somewhat strangely named Andrea, Brookie and Calypso) are have enough palm trees, water hazards and uneven fairways to maintain your concentration and depending on which direction the wind is blowing can be a real test.
There are some great holes, for example the long par-5 B9 presents a blind approach to a green surrounded by bunkers. There are two huge par 5’s on the course: On A course the 5th measures 663 yards and on the B course the 9th is 626 yards so you need to be a big hitter to get anywhere near these two in regulation.
Plenty of water all over the course and many of the greens have been elevated to make life more difficult but when you do make the putting surface they are generally fast and true.
The challenging layout at Pattana Golf Club is probably best suited to the better player especially during the windy conditions that often blow in from the Gulf of Thailand during the afternoons which make it one of the most difficult golf courses in Pattaya. Luckily the caddies are excellent and will guide you round.
Pattana has several restaurants, driving range and short-game practice area and a comprehensive sports centre.

The course is fine but when I played here there were too many players and to make matters worse they were allowing 5-balls onto the course. Most top golf courses will not do this. If you want to play here at weekends then be prepared for a 6-hour round.
Unlike many golf clubs in the area which succumb to the Thai desire for 5-balls or more, Pattana, will not allow this which helps to speed up play. The have the luxury of 27 holes and they manage the rotation very well to ensure your round goes smoothly. It was great fun playing here – caddies were great and each cart had a supply of plastic glasses and ice which was a nice touch. They also supply plastic rain covers to keep your clubs dry.
A nice enough 27-hole course with fairways and greens in good condition. Quite long and their most difficult hole is a 477 yards par-6 – not getting up in two here! Caddies were great and good at reading greens. Clubhouse facilities with excellent and the food especially good. Definitely worth playing
