Siam Country is well known to those who play golf regularly in Thailand. It is also highly regarded outside the country and has received many rave reviews throughout the years. There have been three golf courses available to play at Siam Country Club but that has changed recently following the development of a fourth golf course.
Siam Country Club Rolling Hills is the latest addition to the golf club and is situated just over 2 kilometres away from the Waterside Course. The Rolling Hills Course has been designed by Brian Curley and the Siam Motors Group have invested a great deal of money to bring this golf course to life.
The 18-hole, par-72 course plays to 7,259 yards from the back tees and the front nine is mostly flat. There is a very open feel to the front nine holes, with little in the way of trees or bushes surrounding the golf course. Hole 5 is one of the most memorable holes as it boasts two greens and the golf club can switch between them to offer a different challenge every day.
There are many risk/reward holes on the front nine at Siam Country Club Rolling Hills, with opportunities to make birdie but at a potentially high cost.
The back nine holes offer a contrasting challenge, and this is where you can begin to appreciate the work which has been put in to creating the golf course. Many golf courses decide to move dirt to create mounds which frame holes, but Rolling Hills is a little different in that the dirt has been placed under the course to create changes in elevation.
This has also been done to create a good space for spectator viewing and Siam Country Club are expected to apply to host an LPGA event in the future on this golf course.
The 15th, 16th and 17th holes have been highlighted as three of the best at Rolling Hills. There are various levels and a choice of two fairways on some of the holes, giving players options and making club selection critical. The views from this section of the golf course are superb as you reach the highest point.
However, the 15th hole is arguably the most spectacular thanks to the range of bunkers located in-front of the green. The bunkers get deeper the closer you get to the green and many players may choose to aim to the right, where there is a safe bailout area.
Additional facilities include a clubhouse, with each room offering a view of the golf course plus locker rooms and a pro shop.
Siam Country Club Rolling Hills is sure to take off and become a very popular venue in 2019 and beyond. Don’t waste time and book your round today to ensure you do not miss out.
