Sentul Highlands Golf Club opened in May 1997 and is a 6,538 yard, par-72 golf course, with a choice of tees, making it suitable for golfers of all abilities. The course makes use of the natural rolling terrain of the region, with plenty of local features included into the design and there are lovely views of Gunung Salak and the foothills of Bogor.
There are a number of blind fairways at Sentul Highlands Golf Club, which make precision, rather than power, the best asset off the tee. The fairways are tight and anything which is wayward will make for a difficult second shot. The local caddies will be on hand to provide guidance on each of the holes and with this expert knowledge, it’s possible to find the best sections of each fairway, to make the second shot that little bit easier.
The par-3, 12th hole is considered to be the signature hole at Sentul Highlands Golf Club and despite being short, offers a tough test of visitors golfing ability. The hole features a number of rocks stacked down the down the sides of the fairway and the green is protected by a number of bunkers. The 5th hole is also worth a mention and this one of the holes on the course which has a blind fairway off the tee. It plays as either a long par-4 or short par-5 and tee shots need to be down the left of the fairway, while being careful not to find the rocks. The approach shot to the green is uphill, plus the green is elevated, with a large bunker at the front, so an extra club may be required to reach it in two shots.
Sentul Highlands Golf Club provides a clubhouse, driving range, pro-shop, spa, café and two restaurants, which serve lovely, local dishes. The hilly terrain and blind fairways provide a test for any golfer but it’s certainly possible to card a good score, on what is an excellent golf course.
