Tamarin Santana Golf Club is a Jack Nicklaus designed 9-hole par 36 course located in the Nongsa Resorts area on the north-eastern tip of Batam Island. It features an attractive undulating layout with trees lining most fairways. There are well-placed water hazards, narrow landing areas and quite quick and well bunkered greens. The course has great transport links and has become famous on the island for the impressive design and use of the natural terrain.

The course is due to be extended but the remaining 9 holes are not even in the construction stage as yet. But do not let this deter you from visiting this course. After all a Jack Nicklaus design is not to be missed at any cost, and you can always take a second nine to complete 18 holes and you will not be disappointed in doing so.
As with all Nicklaus´ designs the excellence is in the detail and layout of the hole. With years of experience Nicklaus has created yet another masterpiece with this 9 hole beauty.
Clever use of water hazards and the attention to detail regarding the positioning of the bunkers is sublime.
Each hole is unique and presents the golfer with a new challenge with almost every single shot. From the tee shot which has to be perfectly placed to the approach shot that has to find the most manicured of greens the golfer has no time to relax and take in the picturesque magnificence of the local area and indeed the stunningly beautiful holes that Nicklaus has created.
With tee shots over water and approaches into the well sized greens this is undoubtedly one of the most enjoyable courses on Batam.
The course has a decent practice facility, more than sufficient to warm up before your game and offers golf carts and caddies as many of the courses in Asia do. But apart from that the facilities are basic, you can get a bite to eat and relax with a refreshment after your round but there is no accommodation on the course.
The welcome and service offered by the staff is superb and you are made to feel welcome at this lovely golf course.
