Aquella Golf & Country Club

Aquella is a solid course if you can get to it — and that's the first caveat. It's a real trek unless you're staying in north Phuket, which is probably why the club sees so little volume. The layout has genuine character. The front nine is the tougher stretch, with water cutting through several holes and forcing you to think off the tee, while the back nine is where the more interesting design elements come through. Greens were very slow the day I played, though heavy rain likely had a lot to do with that. The clubhouse is where the "provincial" feel sets in. The locker room is tiny but clean and well maintained — modern, but nothing about it feels generous. Same story with the restaurant: the food was genuinely very good, just served out of a small, unassuming space. What stood out most was the people. The staff and caddies are wonderfully friendly — maybe that's part of the same low-key, provincial charm that runs through the whole place. Worth the drive once, especially for the golf.

Extremely great course. Condition is excellent. Caddies are professional. Buggies are in excellent condition. Downside is greens are slow. Facilities wise is wonderful. Great locker room tho the water pressure for the shower could be better, wonderful service as registering was a breeze. Overall is a very wonderful course. Worth the money to play.

Course was in immaculate condition, although greens a bit slow. Nice layout, very playable. Not the most challenging but nevertheless enjoyable to play. We had good, fun caddies. Would have been nice if more holes were by the sea in view of location. New modern, spotlless facilities. Reasonable prices , good choice of food and drink in restaurant. Worth the visit.

Great course and well maintained. Not overly challenging but enjoyable. Played multiple times and the caddy’s were inconsistent. Would have played the same round without them so, didn’t really add much value. Nice to have but shouldn’t be forced to have them unless they really work to add value.

Very nice layout and in good condition. All staff very friendly and helpful, caddy that really helped.
