Aquella Golf Resort and Country Club is situated overlooking the Andaman Sea at Thai Muang Beach, 40 minutes north of Phuket Airport. The 177-hectare development of the site includes a complete redesign and rebuild the of the former Thai Muang Golf Club as well as villas and a hotel. Work on the new course began in 2018, and the work was undertaken by Pacific Coast Design from Australia and is scheduled to open in 2020.

Some of the new holes follow the orginal layout but have been completely rebuilt and everywhere the designer has added a deep layer of sand to ensure that the course drains well even after heavy rain.The course meanders across the gently rolling terrain and sometimes ventures in the Casuarina trees which line the beach. The course has been designed as a resort course so will be playable for golfers of all standards

The 11th which is a 186-yard par-three is the new signature hole. Here golfers tee off towards the Andaman Sea and the beach front. Depending on which tee you use gives you a completely different perspective and challenge

The contemporary clubhouse restaurant overlooks the golf course and looks out across the Andaman Sea.

Trees are still small but enough ‘water and bunkers to keep you interested! Found course on Golfsavers and they got us a better rate then the rack rate

Incredible course with attentive staff

The course was still wet (due to the time of the year and previous storms) however compared to the other 4 courses we played on this trip it was in excellent condition and well drained. The caddies are still relatively new (course is only new) so they are still learning. The facilities are exceptional (the best experienced in Asia) with sufficient food and beverage huts located throughout. Well priced for the overall experience.

Beautiful course

I have to say this course surprised me. Maintenance is way better than other Phuket courses, facilities are modern and well designed, food in restaurant is delicious. Just fly in the ointment is service. I was with my wife and son and was ready to pay required fee for followers with separate buggy and caddy, meanwhile, manager preferred to lose money whether to allow my wife to drive the buggy (she is a golfer as well and know how to drive). That brought a bit bitterness in our lovely day. Wife and son spent two hours to play mini golf, had lunch in restaurant and made shopping in Pro shop. Overall the course is very good and deserves to spend 1 hour drive from Laguna Phuket.

Impressive welcome and great condition but no "Wow" factor

A beautifully manicured course with immaculate changing rooms and restaurant. However, the course is not particularly memorable and there are few standout holes. Almost completely flat so you do not get a good view of any of the holes.
