Aquella Golf Resort and Country Club is situated overlooking the Andaman Sea at Thai Muang Beach, 40 minutes north of Phuket Airport. The 177-hectare development of the site includes a complete redesign and rebuild the of the former Thai Muang Golf Club as well as villas and a hotel. Work on the new course began in 2018, and the work was undertaken by Pacific Coast Design from Australia and is scheduled to open in 2020.

Some of the new holes follow the orginal layout but have been completely rebuilt and everywhere the designer has added a deep layer of sand to ensure that the course drains well even after heavy rain.The course meanders across the gently rolling terrain and sometimes ventures in the Casuarina trees which line the beach. The course has been designed as a resort course so will be playable for golfers of all standards

The 11th which is a 186-yard par-three is the new signature hole. Here golfers tee off towards the Andaman Sea and the beach front. Depending on which tee you use gives you a completely different perspective and challenge

The contemporary clubhouse restaurant overlooks the golf course and looks out across the Andaman Sea.

Nice course, fairways rough but understandable in current weather season, greens good but slow, some tricky bunkers.

Course not in the best condition. brown areas on most fairways (preferred lies), greens had fair speed and were in good shape. No carts on fairways. Good speed of play. Nice driving range and great service. all in all well worth the visit.

A straight forward golf course with minimal challenges.

Course was a little patchy with many burnt grass. Looks so much different from the pictures viewed on the website. Staff mentioned that it was due to the hot weather. However, the greens are superb, and we enjoyed our putting. Very suitable for a Day 1 Golf during your golf trip to Phuket

Worth the trip!

Quite a newly formed course which we played 1 year ago while on holiday. We revisited to find the course improving. Condition of fairways are immaculate, greens are in very good condition. Aesthetically good on the eye. Water hazards and clever positioning of bunkers still make it quite challenging. Not as expensive as some courses so would recommend for reasonably good value.

Our favourite course. The minute you pull up to drop bags walk to check in you feel like you’re playing one of the best courses in the world. Far exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended that Golfsavers’s push this course on your website.
