The Alpine Golf Club is one of the best golf courses in Chiang Mai and is set in a beautiful valley with great views of the surrounding mountains. The course is in great condition and is very challenging from the back tees.

Designed by world-renowned designer, Ron Garl, he immediately gives you get a taste of what to expect from the opening hole and as you make your way round this very scenic golf course you will need to negotiate the undulating fairways, numerous water hazards and cleverly-placed bunkers in order to score well.

The par 5, 4th is the longest hole on the golf course and is also one of the longest holes in Thailand with trees on the right and out of bounds on the left off the tee and n even larger bunker blocking your second shot.  If you can carry the bunker you have a reasonably easy approach shot to the green but watch out for the creek which is lurking beyond the green.

The 7th is another long par 5 and a quick “Wai” to the spirit house beside the tee might help you to negotiate the stream that runs all the way from tee to green and which you have to negotiate twice.  This is a hole where anything from an eagle to a triple bogey is possible depending on how brave or unlucky you are.

The 12th is an extremely picturesque par 3 with the mountains framing the green which is also guarded by two deep bunkers.

The 15th is one of the signature holes and which is a very intimidating another par 3 as you play to a green totally surrounded by water.  This tee shot is enough to intimidate most people but the green as larger than it looks from the tee boxes.

The superb, modern clubhouse has immaculate locker rooms, a well-stocked pro-shop and dining options include the Resort Restaurant, the Club House Restaurant or you can relax and enjoy a drink at the poolside bar.

A mature course

Reviewed by ; on
The course is well maintained but takes a bit of time to recover from heavy rain so the drainage could be improved in a few places. The caddies are knowledgeable and friendly. Certain parts of the clubhouse are being renovated at the moment so it's a bit cramped at the entrance. Nice changing rooms. Shame that the inclusive buffet closes so early.

A lot of rain and a clubhouse under construction

Reviewed by ; on
The valley in which Alpine is located, got much more rain than other courses. The team needs to work on the bunkers and add sand, fairways have been okay, but if you are in the rough, easy to lose the ball, especially if you get one of the new caddies. Greens have been rather slow, but improved during the round, as the sun helped.

Some really challenging holes, course in beautiful condition.

We played B C, the course is awesome. Pace of play was slow- just under 5 hours, but likely because players were practicing for Thai junior champs the following day. Some spectacular signature holes- and plenty of water in play. Staff and facilities were also excellent

Very enjoyable challenging without being too long

Course is in very good condition. 3 x 9 holes. I played B&C and was pleasantly impressed. I played off whites but Blues becomes a whole lot more challenging.
