The Vintage Club

A pretty classic layout using the natural contours of the area and the many water features which come into play on 13 holes but is ideal for high handicappers and will provide enough of a challenge for the better golfers.

A pretty easy start followed by a short par 3 which offers birdie opportunities but club selection can be a challenge when the wind is blowing.  Most of the holes on the front 9 require an accurate drive to avoid either the water or the many mature trees which border the fairways.  The par 3, 8th hole requires an approach to a well-protected green which is difficult to hold as it slopes away from you.  The forth is a long par 5 but the better players will have a chance to get up in two providing you can avoid the water off the tee which runs along the right hand side.  For most golfers the second is played short of the fairway bunkers leaving an easy chip onto the green.  The next hole is a short par 4 with water all along the right from tee to green and you need to flirt with it to get the best angle for your approach to the very well bunkered green and it’s easy to leave your shot in the water hazard if you get club selection wrong.  The final hole on the front 9 is a beautiful par 4 which demands a tee shot over the creek to get in the best position for your approach between bunkers on the left and water on the right.

The view of the wide fairway from the 12^th tee will tempt the big hitters to go for it and there is a real chance of getting up in tow if you can middle one.  Not too many problems if you miss the green here so definitely worth the risk if you have the distance. The fifteenth is will also tempt you to cut off the corner of the dogleg but anything very wild will find the creek

The 11th is a testing par 3 with a green guarded by water and bunkers either side.  The stretch of holes from 12 through 15 all require accuracy off the tee to avoid the water and to get in the best position for your approach.  The 18th provides a fitting end to your round with the bunkers on the left and waterfall on the right both coming into play

The Tudor-style clubhouse has been recently renovated and offers spacious locker rooms, massage service to a clubhouse restaurant that specialises in Japanese food.

Tee Times at The Vintage Club

The course can get quite busy at weekends, especially early in the morning, but apart from that you can usually secure a tee time quite easily, especially if you use the Golfsavers online booking engine.
