A great designer course for a very reasonable mid-market price about 40 minutes from thecentre of the city.
The only course in the Bangkok region fortunate enough to have the paw prints of the Great Bear all over it, the Legacy Golf Club is a minefield of waste bunkers, water hazards and tight approaches that gives a risk/reward feel to a large number of holes.
Although in the rainy season the fairways can be a bit soggy, making a long course play even longer (particularly from the "Jack" tees), the course is generally in excellent condition given it is so popular. The two huge lakes between which the course was built factor into around half the holes, and most greens are well protected by intimidating bunkers which put a premium on accurate approach play.
The par-4 16th has an island green where carrying water and sand is necessary to avoid dropping precious shots, but the greens run true (although frighteningly fast at times) so it you can get there you shouldn't get any nasty surprises. Overall, not off-puttingly difficult but a challenge for all levels of ability.
Make sure to leave time after your round for a meal at the well regarded Japanese restaurant, and perhaps make a day of it by visiting Safari World next door.
