Despite playing long, the wide flat fairways at Bangkapong Riverside Country Club make this an ideal course for high handicappers; nature-loving golfers will be enchanted by the wondrous flora and fauna. Although some way out of the city there is a fast highway most of the way so can be reached from downtown Bangkok in under an hour. Also one of the best value golf courses in Bangkok

Located halfway between Pattaya and Bangkok and named after the river that runs through it, the Bangpakong Riverside Country Club is a course that emphasises 'green' golf course management, meaning that the extensive local wildlife and native plants are truly a sight to behold. While the wide fairways and flat terrain make this a course where even high-handicappers can expect to score well, the long par 4's make this a course where the long-hitter will really shine. Even the thick rough tends to leave the ball sitting up so as long as you can keep your ball dry you won't get yourself into too much trouble, and big hitters should have birdie or eagle chances at the 9th and 18th.

The near constant wind and the blind shots over trees that occasionally feature prevent Bangpakong Riverside Country Club from being too easy however, and at the standout 17th, your tee shot must avoid out-of-bounds on the right and water on the left whilst somehow avoiding awkward fairway bunkers. Friendly and helpful staff and the peaceful environment mean you should enjoy a relaxing day out from start to finish.

Best value for money south of Bangkok

Bangpakong Riverside would rival any of the top courses in the country. Playability, facilities, caddies and clubhouse are exceptional. This club throughout the week provides the best value for money experience that I have had in 25 years of visiting and playing in the Kingdom. At less than half the price of the more fancied Siams, Laem Chabang or Chee Chan, why wouldn't you? On course refreshments are well priced and good quality. The Pro Shop has all you need and more and the locker rooms are among the best available. Perhaps its only short-coming is the indexing of holes. The Par 3s, which are a real test, are rated 15-18, whilst the easily reachable Par 5s are rated 1-4. Quirky, but not reflective of the real rating these holes deserve. It certainly makes you attack the Par 5s when you lose out on the Par 3s. Overall, excellent. For those coming to Pattaya, take the punt and you won't be disappointed. About 45 minutes up the motorway from Pattaya and just 25 minutes from Suvarnabhumi, it is easily accessed.

Good golf course to play

The golf course with wide fairway and long distance holes flourish with numerous palm trees, flower beds, lakes and dramatic bunkers.

High Quality for Good price

Very well maintained course with good greens; the caddies were not that informative but knew the basics well. The pace of play was reasonable, and there were good refreshments. The restaurant had a limited menu for vegetarians, which is the case for most courses in Bangkok. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. The course will improve as the trees mature and cover more area.

Great experience but groups in front were extremely slow & no marshal in sight

Very pretty golf course, greens could have been faster, fairways very well manacured, pace of play was an issue, there should have been a marshal around as it was very crowded

A fairly standard course lay-out. Water comes into play a couple of times, fairways and greens in good condition. Pace of play in the early morning was very good. Caddy was very knowledgable.
