The first hole gives you a good idea of what to expect during around of golf at Orion Arashiyama Golf Club. The 450 yard par-4 has a straight fairway to a green protected by three bunkers, two of which are to the rear but the difficulty comes in finding the narrow fairway from the tee.
There is a total of eight bunkers lining the fairway, six of which are on the right side, with two on the left and if you fail to find the ideal line, you could be in trouble. The front nine holes play out in a similar way but there is another challenge to face on the back nine holes, as water comes into play.
Reach the 12th hole and you will be faced with a 549 yard par-5 hole, with bunkers lined along the left side of the fairway. However, landing the ball on the fairway is only the beginning and you face an approach shot over water, to a green which has two bunkers at the back.
Water also features on the 15th, 17th and 18th holes so while it is not a predominant hazard when playing at Orion Arashiyama Golf Club, you must be prepared later in the round.
