The Imperial Lake View Resort Golf Club is one of the most scenic golf courses in Hua Hin and is located in the foothills not far from Kaeng Krachan National Park so you’re guaranteed some beautiful scenery. Originally there were two 9-hole layouts: Mountain A and Lake B; later two additional nines one is a desert style course which is unusual and the fourth is predictably based on Scottish links with lots of open space and is the easier of the four nines.

The main A to B courses at Imperial Lake View are bisected by a lake, and the streams that supplies the lake runs alongside many of the holes. There are some mature fully grown trees here with some challenging dog-legs and the odd blind shot, with holes that leave you wondering how to make par regardless of what your handicap is. These difficult holes are balanced by some easier ones so you at least you get some relief along the way.

The desert nine requires careful management and is arguably one of the best 9 holes in the area. The short 4th for example will test your skill, it contains a stream running along the fairway and some rocky outcrops that could easily swallow your ball.

The clubhouse at Lake View is fairly basic but offers a relaxing atmosphere, excellent changing facilities and excellent food. Practice facilities include a grass driving range and area to test your short game. They have a 3-star hotel onsite if you want to play multiple rounds here but is a bit far out of town for an extended stay.

Worth a visit

I wasn’t expecting much, given how inexpensive this course was, but was pleasantly surprised. We played the Mountains (A) and Lakes(B) courses and both were in good condition with interesting layouts. The greens were in very good condition and very fast, lots of undulations. We arrived early and asked if we could go out earlier than booked, but were told it was very busy. Then about 40 minutes before our tee time the starter said we could go. We were a 2 ball and didn’t get paired up. We didn’t encounter any other players till the 17th when we caught up another group. We finished the entire round in just over 2 and a half hours, which was great, although it did feel a bit rushed at times. The caddies were very good, particularly when giving line of putt. Although we didn’t get to use them, the practice facilities looked good, with several chipping and putting greens available. It’s definitely worth having at least one round here, if I had more time here I would definitely come here again.

From the 6 golf courses I played in Hua Hin, the worst. Overall ok. Very hard fairways and the caddies were not the best. The design of the course is nice!

Very fine golf day

The tee-off looked very disorganised, but in the end everything went fine thx to the caddy, my wife as a supporter & the two golfers Cam & Bill I played with

Lakeview is an amazing value 4 x 9 hole course . It took awhile to get used to having a caddie, but after a couple rounds the advantages were greatly appreciated.
