Ho Chi Minh City situated in southern Vietnam is a fantastic base for a golf holiday in the country. You have some excellent golf courses close by, one of which is Harmonie Golf Park. It takes just over an hour to reach the golf course from the city centre but this is time well spent and you will see why shortly.
Harmonie Golf Park opened for play in 2018, making it one of the newest golf courses in the whole of Vietnam. Located in the northern suburbs of Ho Chi Minh City, it is one of two golf courses which are next to each other. The second golf course being Twin Doves Golf Club, so you could easily stay in the area and combine the two if you wish.
The 18 hole championship golf course at Harmonie Golf Park was designed by Jim Engh with the intention on providing a world class golfing experience. The course is a par-72 and plays to 7,348 yards from the back tee. However, there is a choice of four tee positions on each hole making the course suitable for everyone.
The 18 holes at Harmonie Golf Park have been split into two sets of nine holes called the Lani Course and Dani Course. Players usually start with the latter and the round begins with a par-4 featuring a raised tee box and a shot over water to the fairway below. The plateau green is protected by a large bunker which stretches around three sides of the putting surface and it is a great way to begin the round at Harmonie Golf Park.
You will find water features prominently throughout the 18 holes. The opening four holes of the Dani Course all have water and while you are not always required to play over the water, it can easily come into play.
The 7th hole on the Dani Course has a 100 metre long green, which is narrow and that means the length required on tee shots can differ greatly from one day to the next. Leave yourself away from the flag and you could be facing a monster putt.
The Lani Course has more of the same and there are four holes which have water hazards. The fairways are mostly flat, with small rolling mounds and this can both aid and hinder your tee shots. The 7th hole on the Lani Course has a bowl like green and if you hit your shot over the water and onto the putting surface, you ball should find the middle of the green.
The clubhouse boasts VIP locker rooms, a restaurant offering both Asian and European cuisine and a pro shop. Harmonie Golf Park is also home to a driving range, with the first fully automatic ball system in Vietnam. This allows you to concentrate on your shots without having to worry about anything else.
Harmonie Golf Park is a tremendous addition to the golf scene in Vietnam and is sure to become a regular stop for every golfer.
