Holes 18 | Par 72 | Length 6362 m / 6958 y | Type Links | Architect Nick Faldo

Nick Faldo’s 2nd course in Vietnam and his best yet built on a stunning and diverse piece of land with the hills on one side and the white sands of the South China Sea on the other.

The course is located about midway between Danang and Hue and takes about 1.5 hours from each.

Most modern golf course designers try to use the natural terrain as much as possible and here Sir Nick was spoilt for choice with natural sand dunes and rice paddy fields, mature trees and scrubland and exposed rocky outcrops in addition to the dramatic coastline.

In keeping with his style of play he has built a very strategic golf course which offers various route options and will require players to pick their way between the natural obstacles
of the area.

Pick of the holes is the par-3 5th with large mounds protecting the green and you end your round with a challenging par-5.

Decent course design played in brutal weather conditions, some conditioning issues and a 6 near hour round

Ranked 5th in Vietnam and 32nd in Asia the course is set in a pretty stunning location between the mountains and the sea. The set up is top notch with a stunning clubhouse and decent practice facilities. The weather wasn’t kind when I played with heavy and constant driving rain and 20kmh (2 club) winds throughout the round which really affected the visual experience and enjoyment of this course. The course is principally set up as 9 holes away from the clubhouse and 9 holes back in which meant the front 9 was with the wind meaning it played far shorter and allowed for good scoring. Back into the wind and driving rain for the back 9 though was probably the most brutal conditions I have played in. The course design was very good on predominantly flat land with minimal elevation change with lots of bunkering and sandy waste areas which framed large landing areas from the tee with a few short par 4’s needing a strategic approach rather than just pull driver which I liked. Greens were typically huge and often raised with steep run off areas but given the amount of moisture were very receptive with some large slopes. Putts ran pretty true but the caddie (which is compulsory) explained that it had been a challenging winter weather wise which had affected the course and multiple greens had significant fungal growth. There were also bare and damaged areas around the greens and some tees had also suffered. I had expected better conditioning for the ranking and cost. One huge negative was that it took just shy of 6 hours to play 18 holes as a fourball in carts. There was a fourball in front which held up multiple groups which the course Marshall was called on multiple occasions but nothing was done. We waited minutes on every shot and given the rain and wind and being totally soaked through it just spoilt the round and experience. It’s a very good course design in a stunning location which I’m sure is visually amazing on a clear day but my experience was just a grind

Absolutely pristine fairways. Green complexes are challenging and large. Bunkers everywhere. Course suitable to straight hitters (no need to shot shape as much)

Always a great course

Always a great course. Faldo design, challenging. Unlikely the greens recently cored, so putting was difficult. But will always go back. One of the best around the region, Danang

We had a great day on the course. I am glad we still played the course even though they are still sorting out some issues with greens.

A beautiful course with some great signature holes. Recommend very highly. It was a pity we didn’t get to play it in optimal condition.
