The Golf Club Ryugasaki Green

You must only travel 80 kilometres North East of central Tokyo in Japan to find one of the most highly rated golf courses in the country. The Golf Club Ryugasaki is an 18 hole, par-72 golf course and for those who do not have access to a vehicle, the golf course can be reached by travelling to the Sanuki station via the JR Joban line.

The Golf Club Ryugasaki was designed by Shunsuke Kato and opened for play in 1990. The course plays to 6,697 yards from the back tee but as with many golf courses in Japan you can play from a choice of four tee boxes on each hole.

Several water hazards situated throughout the course which is mainly flat and plays through fairways which are surrounded by trees. The 1st hole is a good example and despite being a short and flat par-4, trees line both sides of the fairway so anything which is off line could easily land in trouble. The 3rd hole is another example of a par-4 at The Golf Club Ryugasaki with a narrow fairway surrounded by trees.

Water comes into play for the first time on the 7th hole and is situated on the left side of the fairway. The green it's also well protected by four large bunkers to the front and this makes the 7th hole at The Golf Club Ryugasaki a great test of nerve.

Additional facilities at The Golf Club Ryugasaki include a simulator golf driving range, approach shot and bunker practice area, pro shop, bathing area and restaurant.
