Situated just an hour's drive north of the lively downtown of Phnom Penh, along National Road #130 in Chhveang Village, you'll discover the splendid Chhun On Golf Resort. This emerging golf haven is conveniently located near the Royal Palace, National Museum, and various tourist attractions, promising to redefine Cambodia's golfing scene.
Designed by Brian Curley from Schmidt-Curley Design, the resort is currently developing two distinctive 18-hole courses. The Lakes Course, the first of the two, is preparing for its grand opening in late February 2024, signaling a new era in Phnom Penh City's golf offerings. Following closely in 2025, The Palms Course will make its debut, further elevating the resort's appeal.
Both courses are meticulously planned with five different tee boxes, accommodating a range of golfers, including the impressive 7300 yards black tee box. Brian Curley emphasizes, "Our goal is to prioritize the golf experience by crafting the finest courses in the country. Each layout is distinct, fulfilling our ambition to provide a unique and varied golfing journey."
The courses feature Zoysia Zeon fairways and tee boxes, along with Zoysia Primo greens – a grass variety renowned for its use in prestigious courses like Hoiana, Sentosa, and Stones Hill in Bangkok. This careful selection ensures not only top-notch playing surfaces but also contributes to the aesthetic appeal of the courses.
A notable feature of the resort is the island-green nineteenth hole strategically positioned between the two finishing holes. This bonus hole, nestled beneath the clubhouse, is accessible only by boat, offering an exhilarating challenge and a picturesque conclusion to either course.
Brian Curley expresses his pride, stating, "We are thrilled with the design and innovative elements we've incorporated. We believe these courses will rapidly become the most sought-after in the region for their creativity and quality."
Chhun On Golf Resort is poised to become a premier golfing destination, promising an unparalleled experience that seamlessly combines challenging play with breathtaking beauty, all in the heart of Cambodia's vibrant capital.
